“TIRIPARWENDO” actress Spedia Nyika-Mbatonga will launch her latest album “Deborah” at Wadzanai Cocktail Bar in Shamva tomorrow .The event will be graced by 10 other gospel groups, with prominent artiste, Mercy Mutsvene, expected to top the bill.

Also known by her stage name, Tete Spedia, the diva said “Deborah” is an album about women empowerment.

“It is about women empowerment. It seeks to fortify women in the face of aersities in life. Women should desist from the pull-her-down syndrome because we are here on earth for a reason, which is supporting the family and nation at large,” she said.

And true to her words, the album, which was recorded at Diamond Studios and produced by veteran music producer, Jabulani Ndlovu, will surely leave the lives of many a woman transformed through the way she urges them to work hard.

Tete Spedia, in her community, also leads by example as she is involved in a number of income-generating projects.

“Deborah” is her fourth album after “Hatimbotye” (2004), which carried a tribute song for the Zimbabwe senior soccer team, the Warriors, when they played against Tunisia the same year.

She followed this up with her second offering, “Pindirai” in 2007, which was a plea to God to intervene on behalf of Zimbabwe and Africa.

“Ngatinamatei” followed in 2012, and the song “Ndinonzi Munhu” received favourable airplay. Some of her outstanding tracks include “Bongozozo”, which denounces all forms of violence with popular tracks “Sadza Nembeva” and “Egypt”.

In “Tiriparwendo”, Tete Spedia stars alongside her screen husband, Mambo Rima (Elijah Madzikatire).
