South African rap musician AKA put up a good act at East End Hall in Harare on Saturday.

The show was organised by Magama Beverages and it lived up to its billing.

The prince of South African rap, real name Kiernan Jordan Forbes, gave a stunning performance, but Schingy of the “Team Bhoo” and Junior Brown were also in form.

The “Jealous” hitmaker seemed excited with his Harare show as he tweeted after the show: “Alright Harare the AKA show is in your city, Zimbabwe let’s do this and ‘Harare’, ‘Zimbabwe’ among others. ”

The house was first treated to some tunes by local DJs , DJ Rax, Raydizz, Rawse who did well as supporting acts for award winning Schingy and his “Team Bhoo” who took to stage with his “Ziyai Zvinhu” hit.

Junior Brown took over and thrilled the crowd with his “Madrinks” hit and paved way for the main act by AKA at around midnight.

In an interview after his performance AKA said he was thrilled by the reception he got from local fans.

“I love Zimbabwean shows. They motivate me especially when the crowd sings along and that shows their appreciation of my music, I guess local artistes are doing a good job to ensure that these fans’ desires are met”, he said.

AKA, who also brought a live band comprising of a Zimbabwean-born guitarist, said he was willing to come back for more shows.

Junior Brown, born James Mpakula, was also happy with his performance.

“I am happy to share the stage with AKA. Now I am certain that as an artiste I have what it takes to go on any international platform,” he said.

Schingy, born Shingirayi Maunganidze, was also impressed.
