SACKED deputy transport minister and Goromonzi South MP, Petronella Kagonye is embroiled a messy fight with a church in her constituency which she allegedly swindling of $40,000 in a botched land deal.

Kagonye is facing allegations of selling a non-existent stand to Zaoga church for $40,000 and also of duping over 1,000 prospective home seekers in Caledonia.

According to court documents seen by this publication, Kagonye allegedly sold the piece of land to Zaoga but never transfered the property to the church.

The documents state that the ex-minister abused her state powers to silence the church from demanding transfer of the property which they bought from Gloria Properties, a company owned by Kagonye.

Besides the church wrangle, Kagonye is also fighting with residents who say she is fleecing them of over $500,000 through a housing trust called Nyaguwi Housing Trust in Ruwa which she operates.

In report prepared by the Zanu PF leadership in the province and sent to secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo and minister for provincial affairs in Mashonaland East, Joe Matiza, Kagonye is also accused of protecting MDC-T interests in the constituency.

“The party’s Ford Ranger vehicle white in colour was involved in an accident while being driven by Reason Mabhandi, an MDC-T youth chairman for ward 20, in Goromonzi South,” read part of the report.

Caledonia Consortium Development Trust Chairperson Nelson Mandizvidza confirmed that all was not well in Goromonzi South and accused the MP of letting them down.

When reached for a comment, Kagonye said “I don’t speak to the media.

“You have worked hard to destroy my career but you will never win. Soon I shall name people who are using you.”
