Afro pop musician Peace Ndlovu better known as BaShupi has dropped two singles titled “Camera” and “Mapena”. His wife and personal assistant, Wadzanai Gumbo said the two singles are party songs and they are off his forthcoming album. “Camera” is about people who are on the dance floor dancing to “jikinya”, “kongonya”, “museve”, “muchongoyo” and want to be captured on camera whilst they are having fun.

“It is off his forthcoming 10-track album titled “Dare” and I will be launching it soon,” she said.

The other single “Mapena” (Penalties) is a party track that has a rhumba feel to it and features Pee Kay.

“The song is about life which he likens to a soccer match. Penalties are the ideas that you have and you must be the one to score and not to be a goal post. It’s your tactics and skills that determine your success in life,” said Gumbo.

Gumbo said BaShupi together with afro contemporary musician Kessia and Edith weUtonga will embark on a national tour soon.

“The trio will be doing nationwide shows to market their music. This came as a result of requests they have been getting from fans to work together.

“The artistes are very powerful in their individual capacities and genres and they will have their first performance in August,” she said.

BaShupi is well known for his energy and well choreographed dances during performance. He is also the brand ambassador for the Zvandiri National Aocacy.

The Aocacy is a team of HIV positive adolescents who want to raise awareness amongst their peers of HIV services available for them in Zimbabwe.
