A FUND raising campaign has been launched by family and friends to help repatriate the remains of Michael Anesu Nhema to Zimbabwe for burial.

Michael, 33, of Athy in Co Kildare, Ireland, had been missing for a month when his body was found last Thursday.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Michael went missing on Tuesday, 14 April.

His car, a black Audi A4 was then located at Raheen Car Park in Bray on 17 April by police as his family appealed for information saying they were “very concerned for his welfare”.

After his body was found last week, Ireland police would did not say whether they were treating the death as suspicious and were unable to give any further details.

They thanked the public for their assistance during the search for Michael.

Michael’s family have decided to send him to Zimbabwe for burial and urged friends and well-wishers to help raise the funds needed to repatriate his remains.

By early Thursday morning the campaign had raised about $2,500. Those willing to help can donate at www.gofundme.comsxf7jrc.

“Your support in assisting his family to realise this goal will be most appreciated,” said the fundraisers.

“This page has been set up by Michael’s friends in the hope of raising funds to help Michael’s family repatriate his body.

“A big thank you to those who have already sent in their donations and support.”
