DESPITE a series whitewash, Zimbabwe’s players used the Bangladesh tour to make upward movements in the latest Reliance International Cricket Council One-Day International rankings released yesterday.

Zimbabwe’s highest-ranked bowler is Tendai Chatara, who has climbed to a career-high 48th place, after taking six wickets for 189 run in four matches.

Brendan Taylor has moved up three places to 28th after hitting two half-centuries in the series — 54 runs in the first and 63 in the fourth ODI.

The ICC has also released the schedule of warm-up matches for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

A total of 14 non-ODI warm-up matches will be played across Adelaide, Christchurch, Melbourne and Sydney from the 8th to the 13th of February.

Hosts and four-time former world champions Australia take on reigning world champions India at the Adelaide Oval on the first day.

Zimbabwe’s first match will be on the second day, when they play co-host New Zealand at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Christchurch.

The second match will be on February 11, when they play Sri Lanka at the same venue.

The warm-up matches, which will be free to the public, are not official ODIs and operate under slightly different rules.

For example, while no more than 11 players may field at any one time, up to 15 can be used.
