THE Cheetahs are expected to get down to serious business this morning when they engage in the first training session of their South African Sevens rugby camp at the state-of-the-art Academy of Sport in Stellenbosch.

There, the 15-member Zimbabwe Sevens rugby side will train with the Blitzbokke for the next four days in preparation of their core membership qualifiers before the final 12 fly out to Hong Kong.

South Africa are also preparing for the Hong Kong tournament but they will be taking part in the more prestigious top-tier competition, the Word Sevens Series, an elite class the Cheetahs hope to join by the end of this month.

The Hong Kong tournament is set for the 27th of this month and the camp Down South is critical for Zimbabwe who will be under the guidance of Daniel Hondo in his first assignment as Cheetahs coach.

Having left the country yesterday morning, the Cheetahs linked up with Durban-based Shayne Makombe in Johannesburg before connecting to Cape Town where they met up with the duo of Njabulo Ndlovu and Tapiwa Tsomondo.
