WARRIORS defender Eric Chipeta is a doubtful starter this afternoon as table toppers Hwange plunge into battle against unpredictable Chapungu at Ascot.

Chipeta told his coach Nation Dube that he got a knock on the knee during Zimbabwe’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania on Sunday.

He will be joined in the sidelines by Isaac Masame, David Boriwondo and Aleck Marime. Striker Marime has had a promising start and, together with Chipeta, they have scored six of the team’s 13 goals.

“Everyone in Gweru is saying ‘ask Dynamos’. I don’t know what is that supposed to mean but that’s the mantra in the town and we are saying if Dynamos, who are the champions, could lose there then we should also brace ourselves for a tough battle,” said Dube.

“Chapungu should not expect an easy game. We will fight for every ball because the attitude that we have this year is we must win every game that we play. We are not reading too much into our position on the log standings at this moment because we have only played seven games in the season.”
