A CHIPINGE 15 year old boy, last week Sunday, hanged himself from a tree after he was involved in a dispute with his brother over a $1.

Chipinge District Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera, confirmed the incident which occurred at Mugare village under Chief Mutema.

On the fateful day, the now deceased Daniel Maruva had a misunderstanding over a $1 note which he had borrowed from his young brother Only Muruva, 11.

After a quarrel, Daniel reportedly wrote a note stating that he was going to kill himself so as to please his brother.

He then placed the note in his bedroom before proceeding to a nearby bush about 300 metres away from his homestead and hanged himself from a tree using a rope.

His body was later discovered by Edralyn Maruva, 23, who was herding her cattle.

Edralyn informed other relatives who rushed to the scene. The matter was reported the police who responded and recovered the suicidal note written by Daniel.

Kadzuraumera said no foul play was suspected.
