Botswana sensation Magadeline Lesolebe, also known as Charma Gal, who is a member of Culture Spears has signed a three-year contract with Diamond Studios. In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Diamond Studios artist and marketing manager John Muroyi said they would be recording and marketing the musician’s album in the country.

“We are happy that on Wednesday we managed to sign Charma Gal. We met her at Jah Prayzah’s album launch last month and she showed interest in working with us,” said Muroyi.

“For the next three years we will be recording an album each year for her and we shall be responsible for marketing and distributing her music.

However, Muroyi said for this year they would only do some videos since Charma brought them her current album titled “Eke Ntolo Chomi Yame Volume 5”, which is doing well in her country.

The “Chika” hit-maker who jetted into the country last week, mainly for the contract, was elated by the development.

“I am so happy and grateful to Diamond Studios for choosing me, considering that there are many talented people in my nation.I believe this deal will take my music to greater heights both in Zimbabwe and Botswana,” she said.

Muroyi explained why they chose to work with Charma.

“Some might wonder why we chose her but it is because we saw how gifted she is yet her music is not well distributed in Zimbabwe. Our aim also is to engage other regional artistes in order to improve our music industry in the Southern Africa region,” he said.

Charma Gal collaborated with contemporary musician Mukudzei Mukombe, better known as Jah Prayzah, on the track “Dalie Wami” from his latest album “Kumbumura Mhute”.

Before that, she had performed in the country a couple of years ago under the group Culture Spears of “Kulenyane” fame. Charma Gal has five albums under her name (‘Eke Ntolo’ Volume 1 to 5) and she said she would tour Zimbabwe in the near future.
