Fresh from the studio where he released the chart topper “Teka Famba”, DJ Stavo is set to hoist the Zimbabwean flag high when he joins other top southern Africa DJs on a tour of the United Kingdom scheduled for this weekend.

DJ Stavo whose real name is Steven Sanders is part of a bill that includes South African DJ Cndo and DJ Lady Cream who are expected to rock the crowds back to back with the first show slated for this Friday at Club Swagga before they head to Coventry on Saturday where they have a show at Kas: Lounge.

The trio will wrap up their tour with a massive gig in Leeds on Sunday where they will perform at The Vox New Craven Gate.

Dubbed “DJ Cndo UK Invitation Party”, the show promises to be a big one since the DJs on rotation appeal to a cross-over audience.

And this is not the first time that DJ Stavo has toured the UK. His previous shows were sold out and is probably one of the few Zimbabwean DJs to take their music beyond our borders.

“I am honoured to be representing my country in the House scene and the shows are not strictly for Zimbabweans but also for Africans who live in the UK. So really, I’m excited to be representing Zimbabwe and showcase my country.

“Definitely, I will be sampling new stuff including my latest single ‘Teka Famba’ and ‘Ingoma’. Just to add to the fun, I will be signing autographs on my CDs. I always look forward to touring cause you never stop learning. I wouldn’t say I am used to the UK because this will be an experience for me and learning is the key to growth in this industry, So yeah, I’m really looking forward to this trip,” DJ Stavo said.

Already, DJ Cndo has shared the decks with DJ Stavo in Zimbabwe on a number of occasions and the weekend gigs will be more of a reunion.

DJ Cndo won the Best Female Artist 2014 at the recently held Metro FM Awards in South Africa.

DJ Cndo born Sindisiwe Zungu in 1984 at Mandeni studied at Mangosuthu Technikon where she developed an interest in deejaying. She started learning how to mix at Durbans Finest DJ Academy situated at Chilli Soul 320 West Street – Durban. Soon as she had mastered mixing, she was seen playing in every gig at Mangosuthu Technikon mixing better than most male DJs.

SABC viewers might have seen DJ Cndo in Jika Majika as she was featured as a resident DJ for 13 episodes when the programme was recording Durban talent. She also appeared on SABC 1 programme Seskhona when they were showing the event Durban Rocks 2006, one of the best events that attracted more than 5000 people in 2006.
