THE MDC T-UK Friday said President Robert Mugabe should be ejected from the 3rd United Nations Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction starting Saturday in Japan and be forced to return back home to order the release of Itai Dzamara.

Dzamara, a human rights activist, was abducted by suspected state security agents on Monday in Harare.

President Mugabe is in Japan for the UN meeting.

The abduction of Dzamara, who has been staging protests against Mugabe and his government, has not only been condemned by local human rights organisations but also the international community.

On Friday the High Court ordered the home Affairs and state security ministers, Police Commissioner-General and the CIO Director-General to find the missing journalist turned democracy activist.

In a statement MDC-T UK and its Asia Pacific Region Jacqueline representative Jacqueline Zwambila said UN should not allow Mugabe to attend the meeting because he was “dirty”.

“We call on the United Nations and regional countries, especially the host country, Japan, to demand the immediate release of Itai who was abducted on Monday in broad daylight,” Zwambila said.

“Even if we consider that he was arrested, the 48 hour period of a lawful detention has elapsed without him brought to court. But his was not even an arrest because he was just bundled into a car-a practice that has been condemned by the Supreme Court in the case of Jestina Mukoko”.
