A large field of 130 competitors, both male and female, graced Premier Auto’s annual Jaguar-Land Rover golf day that took place at Royal Harare Golf Club on Friday.

Apart from a few pros, the majority of the golfers were amateurs who were drawn into teams of four as the competition for the top prizes teed off.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Premier Auto Lifestyle Consultant Tyron Mackie clarified on the nature of the company’s yearly golf festivity.

“It’s the company’s annual golf day where we invite our prospective and current customers with the intention to entertain them while they also get the chance to compete on the golf course. It is also an opportunity for us to display our vehicles and allow our customers to ask questions on the latest upgrades on some of the vehicles,” he said.

At the end of the day the top prize went to the team that comprised Charles Chiwara, Hope Kemadjou, Vongai Mhazo and Doreen Gapare, who amassed a total of 95 points in the 18 hole contest. In second place was the team that comprised Shingi Munyeza, Hebert Nkala, Edwin Manikai and Admire Makuvaro with 89 points while 87 points were enough to guarantee Ian Mathieson, Richard Smith, L ivingstone Gwata and Modecai Mahlangu third place.

There were also some individual prizes with Mhazo achieving a nearest to the pin shot on hole two in the ladies category, with Guo Fexin closest to the pin on hole 15 ahead the rest of the male folk.

Lee Wei Dong claimed the longest drive gong in the male grouping as Caroline Mutsambiwa claimed the bragging rights among ladies.
