Kaizer Chiefs have already started preparing for life without striker Knowledge Musona, according to the club head coach Stuart Baxter.

Musona is heavily linked with a move back to German outfit TSG Hoffenheim, and Baxter told Goal that he has earmarked three players that could possibly fill the void.

“We’ve got two or three names in the event of Knowledge not ending up with us,” Baxter told Goal. “But we are hopeful that we can find a solution on that. I’ve got one foreign

name and I’ve got a couple of African names,” he said.

Pushed to reveal his targets, Baxter could only confirm that there’s at least one local player that they are looking to sign, but he wasn’t ready to mention any names.

“Well, there’s at least one local name. So, we have got one in each category, but we just have to wait and see. Knowledge is our preference because we know him and he knows us, but you know the world is not always perfect.”

The 23-year-old Zimbabwean forward has netted 11 goals in all competitions so far this term since his loan move back to AmaKhosi before the start of the season.

If Musona makes the move it would come as a boost to his career after he spurned chances to join other European leagues preferring to return to Chiefs where he made his name having been nurtured at Aces Youth Academy.

Musona surprised many when he turned down a move to English Championship side Queens Park Rangers where manager Harry Redknapp had offered him a lifeline.

Musona had also attracted the interest of Belgian and Dutch clubs.

After failing to secure a place at Hoffenheim, Musona was loaned out to Augsburg for a season after which he moved to Kaizer Chiefs.

The Warriors striker still has a year left on his initial four year contract with the Bundesliga side.

He will be hoping to impress in his final year to either earn a prolonged stay or move to another European league.

After regaining his scoring touch, Musona will be hoping that he can carry that through to Europe.
