The time is now. Yes the fight for a place at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals to be held in Gabon is now here. Malawi is playing host to Zimbabwe in Group L of the qualifying campaign.

The winner will be looking forward to join Swaziland who beat Guinea 2-1 yesterday.

The Flames of Malawi host Zimbabwe who succumbed to travelling woes amid resistance from the players who were then forced late to travel only to arrive in Malawi in the evening of Friday.

Malawi’s mentor recently told the press at a briefing that the participation in the Cosafa and friendly with giants Egypt fully equipped the team for Zimbabwe clash.

“We have no excuses. FAM [Football Association of Malawi] has given us all we wanted to prepare for this match. We just need to go out there and deliver the goods,” said Chimodzi.
