FORMER Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu has emerged as the favourite to land the top job at recently crowned Zimbabwe champions Dynamos.

This comes as it emerged the Zambian is one of the most qualified coaches in the country with a Uefa coaching badge.

Dynamos will aertise the post in the local media but have disclosed they are targeting a coach with at least a CAF A coaching licence.

The post is vacant after championship winning coach Callisto Pasuwa said he would not be renewing his contract which ends this month.

Most Zimbabwean coaches have attained the same qualification but what makes Kaindu the favourite is that he also has the Uefa B coaching badge which gives him a competitive edge over others.

Methembe Ndlovu, who owns Bantu Rovers, is another Zimbabwean who has a Uefa B coaching badge but is highly unlikely to apply for the job because of commitment with his club.

Dynamos chair Keni Mubaiwa says their first target would be a foreign coach but failing that, they would settle for a local coach.

“Our target is a foreign coach but that will depend on whether we agree.

“Kaindu is one of the coaches we will consider, of course, but we will be flighting an aert to aertise the post this week,” said Mubaiwa.

Kaindu also helped steer Triangle away from relegation after leaving Highlanders later this season.

Pasuwa, who won the 2014 PSL championship for a record fourth successive season with Dynamos, announced recently that he will leave the champions when his current contract expires at the end of this month.

The Dynamos hierarchy said they would also consider coaches who finished in the top four during the just ended campaign.

ZPC Kariba’s Saul Chaminuka finished second to Dynamos with Caps United coach Taurai Mangwiro finishing in third place while Norman Mapeza led FC Platinum to a fourth place.
