Zanu-PF House of Assembly member for Kwekwe Central Cde Masango Matambanadzo has been summoned to appear before a disciplinary hearing together with 11 others for allegedly contravening the party’s constitution through alleged misconduct.

Cde Matambanadzo is accused of disrupting party meetings, holding unsanctioned meetings and inciting violence against senior members of the party. He is also accused of making derogatory and defamatory statements against senior party officials. He is also charged with contravening Article 3 Section 18 (5) of the party constitution as well as failing to attend provincial coordinating committee meetings.

Cde Matambanadzo was scheduled to appear for the hearing last Friday but he requested for more time to prepare a defence case over the allegations levelled against him.

His 11 co-accused members are Cdes Honest Diura, Jabulani Magudze, Shepherd Mazambani, Stanley Zibako, Lisbern Jaure, Phambani Phiri, Bridget Chivi, Mclean Nyamucherera, Dennis Chikomba, Prosper Mafumisa and Munyaradzi Murada, who are being charged for contravening Article 3 Section 18 (1)(2) and (5) of the party constitution. The 11 are being accused of holding unsanctioned meetings and creating parallel party structures. They appeared before the disciplinary hearing committee on Friday and their fate will be announced soon.

Midlands spokesperson, Cde Cornelius Mpereri confirmed that the hearings were conducted on Friday and the verdicts will soon be announced.

“I can confirm that 11 members of the party were on Friday summoned for a hearing over misconduct. Their fate will be announced soon. MP Matambanadzo was also supposed to appear before the disciplinary committee but his case was deferred after he asked for more time to prepare his defence,” he said.
