Sungura ace Alick Macheso returns to Marondera tonight for a performance at Legends Sports Bar. This is the second time the artiste will performed at the venue.

William Tsandukwa, the musician’s manager, said they were going back at the venue after fans requested for another show.

“We only performed there once and the response was overwhelming so this weekend we return to that same venue for another show,” he said. Tsandukwa said they had starved their fans for long time and there were calls that the groups should return.

“You see we need our fans to enjoy the music and it will be unfair for us to keep on starving them,” he said.

He said they were going to sample some of their new songs at the show. “Macheso is busy as I speak working on the new album but he is the right person to tell his fans when it will be released,” he said.

The musician is expected to belt out songs from his old albums. “Madhawu”, “Madhuve”, “Amuna Wanga”, “Pertunia” and “Mundikumbuke” are among the musician’s yesteryear hits that are likely to keep fans entertained for the whole night. Though he has been slammed for taking long to release an album those who attend his shows have the opportunity to listen to some of the songs like “Gomo”, “Kurarama Inyasha” and “Guruva” from his upcoming album.

Show organiser Daniel Masaiti said they were doing their best to bring all artistes to Marondera so that people can enjoy.

“Some venues have been closed here but we managed to have Legends here in Nyameni and we will try to bring all artistes here,” he said.

He said they have well prepared for the show.

“Macheso is one of the talented artistes in Zimbabwe and we are looking forward to a great show,” he said.

He said they will have Jah Prayzah on Easter weekend.
