A 29 YEAR OLD Masvingo man who could not stomach a colleague’s habit of sleeping in a bar whenever he was drunk has appeared before the courts in Gweru facing murder charges.

Kebias Musariri from Chief Mugabe area in Masvingo had an argument with the late Paul Jamu over his colleague’s habit of sleeping in the pub.

Musariri slapped Jamu on the face and he fell down. He continued assaulting Jamu and stepped him on his neck causing him to choke.

Allegations are that on May 10 last year, near Worcestershire farm in Gweru, Musariri was coming from a bar in the company of Jamu, Francis Mukavira and Nkosilathi Moyo.

A misunderstanding arose between Musariri and Jamu with the former questioning the latter why he slept whenever he got drunk in a bar.

Musariri slapped Jamu on the face and he fell down. He proceeded to assault him and finally stepped on his neck causing him to choke.

Musariri left the deceased lying unconscious on the ground. Jamu was to die on admission at Gweru Central Hospital.

A report was made to the police, leading to the subsequent arrest of Musariri.
