FORMER Warriors striker Nyasha Mushekwi will return to Mamelodi Sundowns when the Belgian season ends.

He has been on loan at Belgian side KV Oosternder. Sundowns’ communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa aised Chronicle Sport that Mushekwi was returning to the Brazilians.

“In each new season we bring all our loaned players from various clubs for the coach to assess them again, if ever they impress then we strike another deal with the player but those who are not in the team’s plans are loaned out or sold outright.”

Thuswa said Mushekwi will be joining the Brazilians at the beginning of the new season. He said they were yet to hear from the Belgians whether they were keen on retaining him. Mushekwi, a former CAPS United striker, who also excelled in basketball, is contracted to the Brazilians until June next year.

“The Zimbabwean is a good player who has been in the country for some time and is eligible to apply for (permanent residence) which will be an aantage for him in the team as we have quite a number of foreigners,” said Thuswa.

Mushekwi is playing alongside former Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali in the Belgian team.

Thuswa added that former Warriors defender Method Mwanjali, who has one year on his contract left with the team, will also be rejoining the Brazilians after his loan deal with Mpumalanga Black Aces ends in June.
