A 19 YEAR-OLD Mutare sex worker was recently assaulted to death by her client after failing to return about $600 which she had been given for safe keeping at a local brothel during a one night stand.

The brothel madam is said to have joined in the fatal assault and has since appeared in court charged with murder.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Enock Chishiri confirmed the death of Mitchel Sithole from Chigodora, saying they have launched a manhunt for Talent Marekwa Mutero in connection with her murder.

Chishiri said on night of December 11, Sithole and two friends identified as Colletor Maposa, 22, and Clarity Bande, 24, both from Kadoma went to a local brothel were they secured overnight accommodation for $10 each.

At around 2000hrs, the three women went to a local night club to hunt for clients and it was there Sithole met with Mutero.

The pair agreed to spend the night together and Mutero reportedly gave Sithole the $600 for safe keeping during the night before they proceeding to the brothel.

The following day, Mutero demanded his money back from Sithole but she failed to account for the cash. This did not go well with Mutero who started assaulting her with a wooden stool.

The brothel owner, Charity Chirara, 34, reportedly provided Mutero with a sjambok to torture Sithole and force her to release the missing cash.

Chirara reportedly took Sithole’s friends and locked them in a separate room so that they would not interfere with the interrogation.

It was also claimed that Chirara and Mutero took turns to assault the teenager who was stark naked.

Sithole sustained head injuries and cuts all over her body and died on the spot.

After noticing that Sithole had died, Mutero vanished from the scene. He has not been seen since.

A post mortem was conducted and results showed that Sithole death was caused by poly trauma and severe head injuries.

Meanwhile, Chirara was arrested and recently appeared before Mutare magistrate Sekai Chiwundura facing murder charges.

She was remanded in custody to December 29 for trial. Public Prosecutor Brian Goto appeared for the State.
