Budding Kwekwe-based gospel musician Julia Banda Nyengera has roped in the services of gospel songstress Bethany Pasinawako-Ngolomi on her new album. Titled “Jesu Wangu” the album carries six tracks including the title track “Jessu Wangu”, “Dzimwe Nguva”, “Moyo Wakaputsika”, and one that is in Nyanja is titled “Amandi Kondaini” meaning “He loves me”.

In an interview, Nyengera said Bethany backed her on most of the songs on the album.

“I worked with Bethany on most of the tracks and she was the backing vocalist. Because of her experience in the industry, her powerful voice did magic to my project,” she said.

She said her album encourages people to put their faith in God in everything they do.

“Most of the tracks on the album encourage people to remain resolute in God and have faith that with God everything is possible,” she said.

She said some of the tracks are currently doing well on the local charts.

“I am happy that some of my tracks are being given fair airplay on Radio Zimbabwe and National FM and it’s so encouraging that I am really pushed to work on another album,” she said.

Nyengera, who bemoaned lack of adequate finances, said by August this year they are going to release their second album.

“We are working on producing a D this year but we are currently facing some financial challenges, but we will try our best,” she said.

The album, which was produced by prominent gospel producer Laiton Ngolomi, is potentially explosive with the vocals and instruments done with expertise.
