ZIFA Central Region leaders Hwahwa believe they are on the right track in their campaign this season.

Hwahwa held Gaths Mine to take their unbeaten run to five games.Club secretary-general, Jimiel Marecha, said the team was playing according to expectations.

“We have a good team after we recruited some players from Tripple B and Gaza Gunners and they are doing well with the ones we had last year,” Marecha said.

“Playing against Gaths Mine was always going to be a difficult task but we managed to hold them in their backyard, which will give the players confidence for the coming assignments.

“The coming on board of Luke Petros, who is now our head coach, has seen some improvements within the team.”

Marecha said all matches were tough assignments in the championship.

“The notion that the Central Region Soccer League is not competitive is not true,” said Marecha. “There are several teams who were in the Premier League and they are competitive so it is not a walk in the park.

“We will continue to work hard and a top four finish will be good for us.”

Tongogara continued with their fine run as they dismissed Zvishavane Stars 2-0 at Battlefields.
