RONALD Pfumbidzai says he will commit himself to CAPS United as long as he still has a running contract with the club.

The left-back appeared as if he was on his way out of the Green Machine last week as he missed the club’s season opening match at Whawha, with talks about his future dominating the build-up.

However, the want-away defender put behind his personal woes and scored a priceless goal on Sunday to give Makepekepe their second win, in as many games this season, when they edged FC Platinum 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium.

CAPS United coach Mark Harrison said he had a talk with the defender and warned him against making premature decisions in his career.

However, Pfumbidzai insists his heart is currently with Makepekepe and will do everything on the pitch to ensure the success of the team.

“I have a contract with CAPS United and I have to respect that but there are some issues which need to be addressed.

“I always put 100 percent effort whenever I wear the CAPS United jersey despite the issues.

“I play my heart out for the team and that is why I managed to score that crucial goal.

“CAPS United is a team I like but some issues need to be addressed, as such I am with the team and will continue to work hard for it to be successful,” said Pfumbidzai.

The left-back was the unlikely hero for Makepekepe on a day when the Harare giants failed to click for a large part of the game against Norman Mapeza’s men.

“The goal did not come as a surprise as I have scored several goals like that one.

“I managed to read the rebound well and I struck before the goalkeeper had fully recovered,” he said.
