AFTER suffering their second defeat of the season last week, Flame Lily are eager to win when they lock horns with Chegutu Pirates this afternoon in Chakari in the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league encounter.

It was the first defeat at home for the seasoned campaigners and it saw them drop on the table and a win today will put them back on track.

But with Pirates looking for their first win since the season got underway, the Harare-based side will have to brace up for a tough match.

Flame Lily coach Nesbert Saruchera believes they have a good chance of collecting maximum points in Chakari.

“We lost last week, but we managed to talk to the guys. All games in Division One are very tough and we are going for another tough match but we are ready.

“We have prepared well and my expectations are very high. We are hoping for a win away from home so that we won’t be far away from the log leaders.

“We just heard the pitch is good, we haven’t played there before, but I think we are ready,” said Saruchera.

This will be the first game for Chegutu Pirates using Chakari as their home ground after they were banned from using Pfupajena for three games due to the violence that erupted during their match against Mushowani.

Pirates coach, Tavaka Gumbo, told The Herald this week that the move is a blow to the team and urged the supporters to be patient.

“Of course, it’s a blow to the team since results are not coming. At home it was better but then being moved to Chakari means some of the supporters won’t be able to come,” said Gumbo.

Fireworks are also expected in the match between log leaders Mushowani and ZRP Morris at Afdis. ZRP Morris coach, Martin Bonongwe, declared war on their opponents.
