MILLION plus selling UK rapper Professor Green is back after releasing this week a scotching new single ‘Not Your Man’ which features the group Thabo amp The Real Deal which is fronted by Zimbabwe born singer Thabo Mkwananzi.

Released via itunes and produced by Felix Joseph (Ella Ingram, Kwabs), ‘Not Your Man’ showcases Green’s trademark sure-fired wordplay, punchlines and flow, and features the gravelly, soulful vocals of Zimbabwe born singer Thabo.

‘Not Your Man’ is the first cut to be taken from Professor Green’s forthcoming third studio album ‘Growing Up in Public’ due for release on Virgin EMI on 22nd September 2014.

Since they formed, Thabo and his group Thabo amp The Real Deal decided they would “make the type of music Bob Marley would listen to if he were still alive today”.

This guiding principle, sees them tackle political and other conscious themes head on, in a manner that is easy on the ear and stimulating to the mind with gripping minimal arrangements handled by a Fender rhodes piano, percussion and acoustic guitar

The group cheekily describe themselves as “X-Factor contestants when the judges were Bob Marley, Fela Kuti and Dolly Parton.”

The band shys away from drumkit, bass and brass – relying instead on Fender Rhodes (Aron Kyne), percussion (Ali Mac), acoustic guitar (Emmanuel Allert) and vocals (Thabo Mkwananzi) to bring their brand of ‘bare knuckle soul’ to life.

They have a solid reputation for delivering dynamic live shows which has earned them support slots for Eric Roberson, Avery Sunshine, Anthony Hamilton, Omar Lye Fook, Leon Ware, Cody Chestnutt and Dwele.

Their first EP, was very well received and the second outing is an altogether more potent affair, making it clear that they stand by the Bob Marley inspired manifesto.
