Former top model and singer Vanessa Sibanda on Wednesday brought glitz and glamour to the Kong Club in Rosebank, South Africa, when she shot a sexy video of her new single “Agenda”.

The video features South Africa big names such as LTido, AB Crazy and Da Les.

The “Agenda” video was directed by award winner Buffalo Souljah, produced by Thaiwanda with Vintage Crew, who feature on Mafikizolo’s “Khona”, as dancers.

In the video, Vanessa who is affectionately known as Queen Vee, is dressed in a leotard, whining and grinding on stage.

She also changes clothes to a black dress with neon ankle boots before joining some dancers.

In an interview with Buffalo Souljah, who is Sibanda’s manager, said the video literally talks about having fun in a club after a long day.

“So far, for Vanessa this is the biggest thing to happen with a high cost budget. I can’t disclose the actual amount but can say it’s more than US$10 000. We hired some cameras for US$2 500 and the production guys are the ones who did Casper Nyovest, Big Nuzz and Victoria among others. The concept of the video is to promote entertainment and have fun after a long day at work,” he said.

Buffalo, who has scooped many accolades at the Channel O Awards, said was happy directing the video.

“I can say that Vanessa is our own Nicki Minaj, Beyonce or Rihanna. The reason why some artistes are failing is because they are shy and not creative. The video is going to be the talk of town. We shot it over two days in different places, but the same venue,” he said.

He said the corporate world should support and invest in the arts sector.

“Zimbabwe has a lot of potential when it comes to the arts which promotes the tourism sector. What is lacking is the corporate world support,” he said.

He said if Nigerian artistes like D’Banj, P Square and Davido are making it big especially in Hollywood our stars can do the same.

Sibanda said she is living her dream.

“I am happy that I have managed to shoot the ‘Agenda’ video. I am going to be the next queen of African pop. My job is there to entertain and I have given the world what they want especially this festive season. ‘Maforo chete ndiwo chete paAgenda’ (It is all about joy on Agenda),” she said.

The lanky singer said she will shoot another video in Zimbabwe early next year.

“The main idea is to have different feel in my music. I want to shoot my next song in Zimbabwe promoting different locations and tourist destinations. I love Zimbabwe and it is so beautiful,” she said.

South African singer Da Les said has worked with Sibanda on various productions.

“In the video I will be just featured and I enjoyed working with Queen Vee. She is such a talented lady and a good friend of mine. If all goes well we are planning to come to Zimbabwe before the end of this month to help her promote the song,” he said.

Meanwhile, the video will be released in Zimbabwe a few weeks from now with a launch party scheduled for Harare.
