THE World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league will next month begin selling raffle tickets at their matches that will see two lucky fans walking away with cars.

The Zifa Northern Region secured a sponsorship deal for their Division One league with a Japanese company where they will get three cars and playing kits for all the teams. They reached an agreement with World Navi, a company involved in selling Japanese second-hand cars early this year and the partnership will see the firm supporting their league.

They will also get US$20 per every car bought in Zimbabwe as part of the sponsorship deal.

The league’s chairman, Willard Manyengavana, said they are expecting the cars this month and noted that the sale of the raffle tickets begins next month.

“The sale of the raffle tickets commence on August 1 . . . We will allocate tickets to all the 18 teams and probably find other venues which are going to be selling points for the tickets,” said Manyengavana.

Manyengavana said they are expecting the cars to arrive from Japan later this month as they are already on their way.

“What we are trying to do is to get as much money as possible through the tickets and we are looking at selling about 200 000 tickets. It (the ticket) won’t be more than a dollar,” said Manyengavana.

From the three cars, two will be won by two fans through the raffle tickets and the other will be given to the Player of the Year and currently Moses Demera of Gunners seems to be positioning himself well for this award.

Demera has so far scored 10 goals in the league.
