ARMY side Black Rhinos extended their winning streak in the women’s Super League when they thrashed police outfit ZRP Queens 5-0 at Morris Depot.

Rhinos’ forwards Kudakwashe Bhasopo and Rutendo Makore grabbed a brace each while midfielder Violet Bepete weighed in with the other goal.

Coach Waddington Chinyan’anya said they could have won with a bigger margin.

The team is currently leading the log standings, unbeaten, with 49 points.

They have played 17 games, won 16 and drawn once.

“It was a very good game but I was not satisfied with the score margin. We could have got, at least, nine goals but we failed to convert some chances.

“We will have to go back and work on that issue and other few weaknesses that I noticed during the game.

“We have a reverse fixture with them and we want to be sure we surpass what we did at the weekend.

“I am very confident with the team and despite the fact that our camp has been hit by several injuries, the available players have done very well and I have no doubt that the Super League title is as good as ours ,” said Chinyan’anya.

Rivals Flame Lily have warned log leaders Black Rhinos to rule them out of the race at their own peril.

Flame Lily are in second place.

“We were on top of the log for a while but we suffered some unfortunate defeats along the way.

“But, going forward, I don’t think we will have any problems.

“We believe we will still have a shot at the title depending on how we handle our remaining games.

“We are still in the race for the title.

“They (Black Rhinos) are now leading but in soccer anything can happen, so we will see what will happen.

“They should not rule us out,” said Ngirande.
