ZPC Kariba … … … … … … … … … . 0

BLACK Rhinos turned on one of their best performances this season but road-weary ZPC Kariba held on to maintain their unbeaten start in the Castle Lager Premiership game at Rimuka yesterday.

The visitors, though, were indebted to their impressive ‘keeper Tendai Hove whose heroic show helped them steal a point.

They had their chances and Pride Tafirenyika wasted one in the 11th minute before playmaker Raphael Manuvire missed another one in the 26th minute. Lincoln Sarawaya should have put Rhinos into the lead four minutes later but hesitated to pull the trigger and the chance was lost. Zimbabwe international midfielder Wonder Kapinda, who was in Tanzania with the Warriors, was also impressive and the creative hub of his team’s best moves.

In the 59th minute, there was pandemonium in the ZPC Kariba box when the ‘keeper spilled a Lot Chiwunga bullet but Phillip Marufu saw his rebound saved.

“A good game by my team, that is all I can say as the battle for survival continues,” Arthur Tutani, the Rhinos gaffer, said.

Saul Chaminuka said his men could have done more.

“Salvaging a draw away from home is not bad but we could have buried them had our strikeforce utilised those chances,” said Chaminuka.
