RODRECK Mutuma dumped his manager Edzai Kasinauyo when he inked a two-year deal at CAPS United this week.

Mutuma joined the former Cup Kings on Monday afternoon after lengthy talks for an extension of his stay at Dynamos. And his manager, who was still negotiating a possible deal with Dynamos, said he was surprised to see that the player had changed his WhatsApp profile picture, which now featured his unveiling ceremony at CAPS United.

Kasinauyo is said to have even made contact with Dynamos early on Monday to try and seal the deal for a contract extension.

But, it appears, Mutuma had already made his decision.

The self-styled Prince negotiated the deal on his own, without his manager’s input, as he fast-tracked his move to CAPS United.

On Sunday, Kasinauyo had told this newspaper that the lanky striker was likely to stay at Dynamos, but 24 hours later, Mutuma was unveiled at the Reserve Bank Sports Club as a Makepekepe player.

“Everything was agreed with Dynamos a few weeks ago,” said Kasinuayo.

“Basically that’s why he has continued training with the club. It’s only fair that Dynamos should talk about the details of the contract. Mutuma should be playing for Dynamos this year unless there is something happening that I don’t know.”

The former Warriors midfielder also handles the affairs of Tafadzwa “Fire” Rusike whose talks with the Glamour Boys have also been dragging for a long time.

Rusike was not part of Dynamos’ provisional squad which was submitted to PSL last week.

The former Ajax Cape Town midfielder has been linked with an Angolan club.
