A 31-Year-old Parirewa High School teacher allegedly forged an Ordinary Level Mathematics results slip to enrol at Morgan Zintec College before landing a teaching job.

Happiness Mupandawana was reportedly exposed by the Salary Service Bureau that she never wrote O-Level Mathematics.

The court heard that Mupandawana did her studies in Harare before securing a job as a teacher at Parirewa High School in Domboshava.

Unfortunately, the Salary Service Bureau cut short her career after discovering that she never wrote the June 2010 mathematics examinations at Lord Malvern High School as purported.

Mupandawana is facing charges of contravening the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council Act.

She pleaded not guilty and Harare magistrate, Mr Elijah Makomo, remanded her to June 29 on $50 bail.

In her defence, Mupandawana said she was not aware of any forged certificate and never tendered such a document.

Prosecutor, Mr Benjamin Chikerema, alleged that sometime in 2010 Mupandawana applied to train as a teacher at Morgan Zintec College.

Mupandawana was expected to have passed Mathematics as per requirement.

She did not have Mathematics and attached a result slip with a grade C in Mathematics on the application form.

The result slip indicated that she sat for June 2010 examinations, the court heard.

It is alleged that Mupandawana was enrolled at Morgan Zintec College and completed the three – year teaching course.

She attained a Diploma in Education, which she used to apply for a job as a teacher at Parirewa High School.

The matter came to light after officials at SSB discovered that she never sat for the June 2010 examinations.
