CAPS United midfielder, Tendai, Samanja confirmed that while he is leaving the Green Machine, he was still considering a lot of options about his next move. Reports at the weekend said Samanja would join FC Platinum. But the midfielder told The Herald that he hasn’t settled on any team yet. “I still belong to CAPS United, although they owe me a lot of money,” said Samanja.

“I am going to take my time in selecting the best and right club for me because once there I would not want to start changing again.

“I have said I am moving because CAPS have not been paying me but I have not yet decided which club I will join.

“I do not want to regret in future, many coaches have been calling me, asking me to join their clubs but I have said ‘hold on I will tell you when I decide.’

“Platinum FC called me today (yesterday) asking for my passport number and other details but I told them to hold on, I am yet to decide.”

Samanja was one of the players named among the Soccer Stars of the Year.

“I was not expecting this but God made it possible for me, I want to thank my team because I could have not done it alone, we did it together.

“My coach was also helpful and I thank him for everything.

“I am the only one in our team who was honoured and I want to tell my teammates that they will also one day get honoured.”

Samanja confirmed that he will not be returning to CAPS United next season.

“I won’t be at CAPS next season,” he said.

It is understood that Samanja has been offered a lucrative three-year deal by Norman Mapeza at FC Platinum and is set to be named in the 25-man squad for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Yesterday was the deadline for the registration of players for the CAF inter-club competitions.

FC Platinum spokesperson, Chido Chizondo, said there were some few things they needed to iron out with ZIFA.

“There are a few things we are yet to iron out with Zifa, the deadline for registration is today (yesterday).

“We have, at least, a week window period so I am sure all the registration process will be done by then,” said Chizondo.

Chizondo said although they wanted Samanja, nothing has been finalised yet.

“He is a good player and, therefore, we would like him to join us,” Chizondo said.
