PRINCE Edward captain Kudakwashe Ndoro is set to miss the Tigers’ epic clash against rivals Churchill on Saturday after picking up an injury at the weekend.

The eighth-man, who was named the outstanding player at the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival, was injured in their 19-43 defeat at Falcon on Saturday.

His injury is likely to affect the Tigers when they take on the Churchill Bulldogs on Saturday in the provincial trials of the Under-18 Craven Week side.

Ndoro failed to last the match against Falcon after injuring his right ankle in the first five minutes of the match and could be out for more than two weeks.

“It was a terrible loss and I could not do anything to help (the team). I got injured in the first five minutes of the game so I didn’t play much,” Ndoro said.

The Prince Edward captain believes the Tigers made a lot of mistakes in their loss against the Esigodoni high-flyers.

“We were not on our ‘A’ game and we made a lot of mistakes in the game,” he said.

“We actually knocked on two tries which could have changed the game for us.”

In other fixtures at the weekend, Churchill beat Kyle 27-17 at Nigel Phillip Field, their favourite hunting ground, while Peterhouse drew 7-7 at home against St John’s College.

Christian Brothers College were hammered 3-83 by hosts St George’s College.

Eaglesvale beat Petra 41-17 in Bulawayo, Midlands Christian College thrashed Gateway 71-0 while Watershed beat Vainona 27-10.

Hellenic found the going tough away in Chinhoyi as they fell to a 17-36 defeat to Lomagundi College.
