FIVE Triangle United players escaped unhurt in the early hours of Tuesday after they were involved in a road accident in Gutu on their way from Harare to Chiredzi.

Midfielder Cabby Kamhapa, Jimmy Tigere, Jimmy Dzingai, Darwen Phiri and Junior David Mubayiwa were coming from Harare, where they had spent the weekend, following their side’s 3-2 defeat to FC Platinum on Sunday in Zvishavane.

Club chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze confirmed the accident.

“I can confirm that five of our players were involved in an accident at Gutu turn-off along Masvingo-Mutare Road.

“But at the moment l have scratch details on what actually happened but head coach Kelvin Kaindu went to take the players in Gutu,” he said.

Triangle head coach Kaindu said the players will receive medical attention.

“All of the guys are looking fine but they will need to go for a medical check. They are looking fine, though,” said Kaindu.

Triangle will this weekend look to bounce back from their recent loss at Mandava when they face How Mine at Gibbo.
