Volsec Security Company became the first and only security company in Africa to be certified in three international standards by the Standards Association of Zimbabwe. The security company has been awarded with ISO 9001: 2008 (quality management system), certified 2012, ISO 14001:2004 (environment management system), certified 2014 and OHSAS 18001:2007 (occupational health and safety assessment series), certified 2014

Volsec chief executive Mr Reuben Chisale said the company’s achievement comes with many benefits.

“We have made history by successfully integrating these three standards, there are many benefits of being SHEQ Certified,” he said.

He said the company’s decision to go for certification was because it provides it with a set of principles that ensure a holistic approach to the management of their business activities thereby achieving greater customer satisfaction.

“The business management systems guarantee our organisation to focus on how we conduct our business. Each procedure and work instruction is documented and implemented thus, it becomes the springboard for continuous improvement”, he said.

Mr Chisale said the company values their customers and being certified will help in motivating the workforce and reducing the negative impacts on the environment.

“It will also enhance customer service as we are forced to adhere to internationally defined standards and professional ethics.

“Cost reduction in terms of insurance premiums for our clients as well as monetary savings as a result of greater operational efficiency” he said.

Volsec Security provides comprehensive security services. These include security guard services, cash-in-transit, alarms, rapid response, closed circuit TV (CCTV) and access control.

This achievement comes after Volsec was taken to court by another security company, Securico for stealing their information and using it to attain ISO9001 2008 last year.
