In a bid to avoid commotion on the day of the show, organisers of the Zahara-Mafikizoko concert – set for next Friday at Harare International Conference Centre – begin selling tickets today. The tickets go on sale this morning at selected outlets in and around the CBD in a move that is meant to ease pressure at the venue on March 6. Tickets for the upper part of the HICC are going for $15 and bottom section entry fare is $25.

Simba Madziva of Simmad Entertainment, organisers of the concert, said they have given fans a week to purchase tickets at outlets around the capital to avoid inconveniences.

“The tickets are available at HICC, Joina City Spar and Focal Point outlets in Newlands, Borrowdale, Avondale, Westgate and Travel Plaza.

“We have made serious plans for this show and we want people to do their planning on time,” said Madziva.

“We believe a week is a good period for thousands of fans to buy tickets without pressure. It is easy to plan with your ticket in hand than go to the show unsure if you will be able to get in.

“At our last show people complained about pressure at the gate and we have done our groundwork to avoid a similar situation. Besides the tickets issue, we have also strengthened our security at the doors, in the car park and in the venue. We have also given due attention to bars so that beverages to not run dry like what happened last time.”

Zahara and Mafikizolo are expected in the country on the day of the show and they will share the stage with local musicians Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Pah Chihera.

The show will coincide with Pah Chihera’s birthday and the songstress has expressed excitement to celebrate with international musicians on such a big day.
