THE ZIFA Northern Region Division One leadership will tomorrow hold a management meeting to discuss the new season set to begin on April 4. The meeting will see the region’s management discuss several issues aimed at improving the regions’ performance in the coming season.

Willard Manyengavana, the ZIFA Northern Region Division One chairman, said they needed to do better than what they did last season.

“We are going to hold a management meeting this Saturday and it will be aimed at mapping the way forward on the new season, especially development areas.

“Last season we held a successful season but that gave us the drive to want to improve and we are going to focus on those areas that need improvements.

“We are hopeful that we will be able to have a successful season.”

The Northern Region will conclude their club registrations on March 25 but most of the teams have already affiliated with the league.

“We will conclude our registrations next week and by that time we will be able to know which players are with us and those who are not part of us.

“Teams have affiliated and the process went on well and only a few are still to come on board,” said Manyengavana.

He hinted on organising a tournament with all the other regions for the champions at the end of the season.

“We are looking forward to meet as the four regions and organise a tournament for the teams who would have qualified for the championship at the end of the season.

“We are hopeful we will come up with something as Division One regions,” added Manyengavana.
