Three Zimbabweans from the Global Shapers Community in Zimbabwe will be representing the country at the World Economic Forum on Africa 2015, scheduled to take place in Cape Town , South Africa from 3-5 June .

They include Alvin Nyika Global Shaper (Harare Hub), Ntandose Hlabangana Global Shaper (Bulawayo Hub) and Phuthumani Mlotshwa Global Shaper (Bulawayo Hub).

The three were invited to represent the Global Shapers Community and in particular their respective Hubs in various ways at the forum. As Global Shapers , they were invited based on their proven track record and ability to participate effectively in discussions that will take place at the forum.

The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum and a network of hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and drive to make a contribution to their communities.

Mr Nyika is the founder of Core Foundation, a hybrid organisation that focuses on social entrepreneurial development and wealth creation in rural and urban areas using entrepreneurial development and resource creation to sustain communities and enable economic development.

Mr Mlotshwa is a medical laboratory scientist by profession with interest in public health. He is working on setting up a health initiative around HIVand AIDS in the church community in Bulawayo.

A lawyer, Ms Hlabangana is the founder of Rising Hope Foundation, whose goal is to promote education of our children, eradicate food insecurity and poverty in a way to develop the ability to generate sources of income through sustainable use of natural resources in Zimbabwe and increase the standard of living.

Over the past decade and half, Africa has demonstrated a remarkable economic turnaround, growing two to three percentage points faster than global GDP.
