ZPC Kariba are still to sign a deal with legendary Zimbabwe coach Sunday Chidzambwa, although that now seems a formality. The side suspended their coach Saul Chaminuka last month and placed caretaker coach Oliver Matava to lead the side for a period of five games.

The five games lapsed on Saturday when they drew 1-1 with Dynamos and a decision has to be made ahead of the resumption of the league games in the next three weeks.

Speculation is rife that Chidzambwa could be on his way to the resort town and only a few issues need to be sorted out.

Interestingly, the veteran coach was at Nyamhunga, in the company of club chairman Munyaradzi Nduna, when ZPC Kariba were held to a draw by DeMbare at the weekend.

Nduna yesterday was not willing to talk about the developments, referring questions to the club’s spokesperson, Fadzai Chisveto.

ZPC Kariba managed to collect six points from the five games under the interim technical department with three draws, two defeats and one win.

It looks like the side will not repeat last year’s feat when they finished runners-up to Dynamos in the championship race in their debut season.
