HARARE: Zimbabwe recorded new 192 COVID-19 cases, raising the country’s tally to 2,704.
As locally transmitted infections continue to spike, only three of the 192 cases are imported while the rest are local infections.
In an update, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said two people from Manicaland Province, a female aged 34 and a male aged 30, succumbed to the virus, bringing the country’s death toll to 36.
The number of people who have recovered from the virus increased by 24 to 542, leaving 2,126 active cases.
Of the total cases in the country, 1,675 are local infections while 1,029 are imported cases.
Harare is topping in terms of cases at 884, followed by the second largest city of Bulawayo with 716.
Bulawayo, however, so far has the highest number of local infections at 667 followed by Harare with 601.
The country has done a total of 122,770 COVID-19 tests to date. — NNN-AGENCIES
