Home » General » CUBA ATTENDS SYMPOSIUM ON BUSINESS IN ZIMBABWE

HARARE, Feb 18 — Cuba attended the Trade and Investment opportunities in Africa and the rest of the world conference, organized by the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce.

The event was opened by Eunice Nombthandazo Moyo, Minister of State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, and was attended by a large number of important figures of the business, financial, diplomatic and academic world.

Cuban Ambassador to Zimbabwe Elio Savon Oliva gave a speech about Cuban economic model’s updating and the business and opportunities of investments in Cuba.

Savon gave details about the Special Economic Development Zone in Mariel, the first stage of which was recently opened.

Savon’s address was followed by questions from the audience that allowed him to go into details and tackle subjects like the U.S. Blockade against Cuba and its effect in Cuban economy.
