Ghana Models Awards 2024 Celebrates Excellence in Modelling Industry.

Accra: The seventh edition of the Ghana Models Awards recently took place at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC) in Kanda, celebrating the achievements of professional models over the past year. The event recognized outstanding models and agencies, with 'Iconz Models' winning 'Model Agency of the Year,' while Nana Sam E. Sackeyfio received an anniversary gift in the form of a car. Aisha Napari and Glenn Zime were honored as the 'Overall Female and Male Models of the Year,' respectively. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Jerry Wonder Sampson, the founder of the event, highlighted the progress of the Ghana Models Awards and encouraged models to be proud of their profession. He urged them to make their voices heard in the upcoming elections to ensure their recognition as vital contributors to the arts industry in Ghana. Mr. Sampson also advised models to express their views on the future of the modelling industry. Mr. Sampson commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's proposed travel policy for artists, describing it as a potential 'game changer' for professional models in Ghana. He noted that the policy could facilitate international appearances for models at fashion shows and paid campaigns, contributing to career growth and increased earnings. The awards night featured a vibrant display of fashion, with shows from local and international designers such as Vive Clothing, E.1 Collection, Greg Jones, Vvio Couture, and Candy Couture. The event was supported by sponsors including the Nii Noi Nortey Foundation, Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd., Daily Guide Network, and Glasel Company Ltd. A complete list of winners was announced, with notable mentions such as Exopa Modelling School winning 'Modelling School of the Year,' and Nana Sam E. Sackeyfio and Eugene Sappor being named 'Commercial Female and Male Models of the Year,' respectively. Other winners included Efya Harmless as 'Editorial Female Model of the Year,' Clinton Samuel as 'Editorial Male Model of the Year,' Bintu Baaba as 'Runway Female Model of the Year,' and Priscilla Awagah as 'Model Beauty Queen of the Year.'
