Sabronum: President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Monday, commissioned four hospitals in the Ashanti Region, urging Ghanaians to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to maintain the momentum in health sector investments. He emphasized his administration's commitment to prioritizing citizens' health through the Agenda 111 initiative, marking a significant infrastructural development in the sector. According to Ghana News Agency, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the importance of trustworthy leadership to continue the investments in the health sector, endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a suitable candidate. The President addressed the people of Sabronum in the Ahafo Ano South East District during the commissioning of one of the hospitals. The other hospitals are located in Drobonso, Twedie, and Suame, all part of a 12-hospital project constructed by VAMED Engineering GmbH of Austria. The project is financed through funding secured in 2020 from Erste Group Bank AG and Ceska Sporitelna a.s., aiming to enhance healthcare access across Ghana. President Akufo-Addo stressed the need for continuity in leadership to ensure quality healthcare reaches all Ghanaians, acknowledging Dr. Bawumia's pivotal role in the Agenda 111 initiative. The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, commended the President for the numerous health interventions in the region, describing them as unprecedented in the Fourth Republic. He urged the region, which hosts 19 hospitals under the Agenda 111 initiative, to support the NPP in the 2024 elections, particularly highlighting the significant projects in the Ahafo Ano enclave.
