LUANDA, The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnagagwa, has left Luanda, after a working visit of a few hours to the country, aiming at discussing with the Angolan authorities issues related to the political situation in his country.

At the "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, Emmerson Mnagagwa received farewell greetings from the Angolan Foreign Minister, Manuel Augusto.

In a brief statement to the press, the Zimbabwean Head of State said that he came to Luanda to inform to his Angolan counterpart, JoAPound o Lourenco, about the political and democratic transition that happened recently in his country.

"As you know, Angola chairs SADC's policy, defense and security organ and I came to report on the humble and peaceful transition that happened recently in Zimbabwe, which resulted in the resignation of our former president,"he explained.

Asked about the relations between the two countries, Emmerson Mnagagwa stressed that "we had a good discussion and agreed to improve our relations. We will soon have a joint committee meeting to promote this relationship, especially in the economic area. "
