Previous President Olusegun Obasanjo has described Chief Ernest Shonekan, the former Head of the Interim National Government, as a unifying force for the country. He stated that his contribution to the establishment and development of Nigerian democracy cannot be overlooked. Mrs Margaret Shonekan was “a role model and an essence of the good in the nation’s business firmament of mixed benefits,” Obasanjo wrote in a condolence letter to her.
