Home » General » TUNISIAN PRESIDENT PARDONS HUNDREDS OF PRISONERS OVER EIGHTH REVOLUTION ANNIVERSARY

TUNIS, Tunisia, Tunisian President, Beji Caid Essebsi, on Friday granted clemency, for hundreds of prisoners, over the eighth anniversary of the 2011 revolution, a presidency statement said.

According to a report, presented by Minister of Justice, Mohamed Karim al-Jamousi to Essebsi, 521 prisoners will be pardoned, and 1,639 others will get shorter prison terms.

Essebsi also approved a proposal, to offer a pardon on lawsuits of dud cheques.
