Home » General » Written question – Zimbabwe free of Mugabe after 37 years, but after the celebration comes uncertainty – P-007027/2017

Zimbabwe is no longer in Mugabe’s clutches, but it is also embarking upon a period of uncertainty(1).

1. Now that Mugabe has resigned, who in Zimbabwe is currently responsible for the sum of EUR 234 million in tax payers’ money that the EU gave away so freely?

2. Is this what the Commission means by ‘… promoting governance and institution building and supporting reforms which will make the country more democratic and more prosperous. The signing of a National Indicative Programme (NIP) of EUR 234 million for the period 2014-2020 helps achieve this objective’, as indicated in reply to previous written questions(2)?
