The Research Council of Zimbabwe (RCZ) will next year host the 11th international symposium which provides a platform for sharing latest scientific data and technologies, says its executive director, Susan Muzite.

President Robert Mugabe inaugurated the symposium series in 1988 as a key platform for researchers, industrialists and policy makers in the country and the world at large to exchange information, research findings as well as forge closer ties.

Muzite told the media here Tuesday that the conference, to be held in the resort town of Victoria Falls on Feb 16 and 17, 2017, was expected to provide a platform for cross-pollination of ideas among researchers.

"The symposium seeks to link entrepreneurs with research results for the production of quality goods and services," she said.

The theme of the symposium is "Research for unlocking entrepreneurship".

Muzite said the symposium would also promote smart partnerships among researchers, entrepreneurs and other users of research results. "The conference will enable researchers and decision makers at all levels including entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe and the rest of the world to exchange information, research findings and ideas for unlocking wealth," she said.
