ZIMBABWE’S PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA EXPECTED IN WINDHOEK MONDAY

WINDHOEK, Zimbabwe's new Head of State, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is expected to visit Namibia on Monday.

A media statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Namibian president, Albertus Aochamub, said Mnangagwa would make a one-day courtesy visit to Namibia, where he is expected to formally introduce himself after assuming office in November 2017.

The statement added that the Zimbabwean Head of State, who took over from the long-serving Robert Mugabe would hold l talks with President Hage Geingob to establish new possible areas of co-operation.

The statement said it would be the first working visit to Namibia by President Mnangagwa since his inauguration and the visit would be conducted in the interest of further strengthening existing excellent relations between Namibia and Zimbabwe.

President Geingob also serves as the deputy chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), in which Zimbabwe is a member.
